From a book I am reading

But there were the windmills, suddenly. My heart lifted. They were so beautiful. They made me optimistic, like I could still achieve something.

Well. I'll never forget the first time I saw windmills, in Cornwall. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was so taken with them.

The book is The Secret Scripture by Sebastian Barry. And I think windmills are amazingly beautiful too. In fact, I remember Patrick you saying, "The blades look like they are moving slowly but imagine yourself at the end of a blade". And when you watch a blade tip, it almost makes you dizzy.

Other than that particular quote, would you recommend this book? I have no personal reflections on windmills. And are we talking the traditional ones or the turbines? Because I LOVE those... a farm of them just look so graceful.

Turbines. And yes I recommend the book. It has nothing to do with windmills.
