Manchester Idyll
Last weekend was spent with Deirdre in Manchester. John joined us for a bit but spent most of his time at a conference. We roamed the city streets on a hot summer night, rode the big wheel and the girls danced their way through about 12 blocks, uninhibited by the revellers and bunny-eared hen parties. We spent a sunny Saturday at Heaton Park, a gorgeous former country estate, now owned by the city, with a boating lake, mini train, great play area and small farm where we made friends with the peacock and Heather the shorthorn cow.
We tried our best to behave in restaurants and cafes, and on Sunday took the tram to Salford Quay, a riverside development. We went to the Lowry Museum and gallery. I snuck away from the group for 20 minutes so I could admire the paintings in peace.
Thank you Deirdre for all your hospitality.

Sounds and looks like everyone had a great weekend. What did you feed the geese? Was there any honky-tonk?
Look how cute Ailsa imitating Deirdre.
