Glen Isla
Caught up with old Oxford friends Lou+Adie in Glen Isla - they were spending a warm October holiday in bonnie Scotland. Got a bit wet finding the Reekie Linn falls.
After the soaking rain comes the rainbow Their cottage was in the Cairngorms - a deer started running along side our car. Of course the hard work was rewarded with lashings of sandwiches and scones. John

Bruno and I had to look it up! British for a large amount of food or drink - Oxford Dictionary.

Yes BA, it was actually a British reference that no-one gets because no UKers read my blog...but it comes from the famous five Childrens books where after a spiffing day's adventure the five have 'lashings of ginger beer'

Me and Anita got it, eh Anita?

Yup, we got it. Although I would tend to use it only for large amounts of liquid, as in the ginger beer example given. Not sure if it works so well with sandwiches and scones.
