The Christmas is in the Detail
Last night John was snack hunting."Ooh, what are these mini mince pies up here?"
"Those are for Sunday evening, when we write all the Christmas cards"
"Cards. Boy, you are 10 Christmas steps ahead of me. If Christmas was left to me, I'd cook a nice meal and make a phone call or two".
I was crying with laughter, I nearly dropped my toast.

Sounds like John is doing the traditional Christmas. Rita always says to me, "Why do I always have to do all thinking and planning?" My answer is she knows more and does it better. However, I do help out.
The fact that he thinks you're only 10 Christmas steps ahead of him is a good indication... there's a few more steps he doesn't see, obviously... most men, for that matter.
Me too, I have the mince pies waiting for the Christmas card night. Just don't have it planned for Sunday night. I bet you're doing it right now.
Wow! I want to com to your house Bethanne to help with the mince pies!
An interesting gender relations discussion is simmering here; I'm tempted to say something incendiary but don't want to ruin the nice Holiday spirit of this post!
And need to speak up here for the gender divide. Neil does (buys, writes and sends) as many Christmas cards as I do. In fact i noticed that he has started to write his while mine where only bought on Saturday, so if you're on his list rather than mine, you're likely to get the card earlier too.
What's happening at our house? I printed photos from Costco that come already written up with their own envelopes. I will purchase a box of Timbits to nibble on while I stuff the envelopes and write addresses on them. Tacky?
Well if you think the Christmas prep is already in full speed what about the St Nicholas day celebrations - remember to leave your boots outside your room tonight and if the men have been good there will be chocolate in the morning- happy holidays!!!
umm is it bad I don't even have cards yet? eek!
