Long Time No Laundry Blog

While putting out the sheets this morning, a bright sunny and slightly windy day, I was reminded of my friend Lisa. She lives at the top of a big hill and can feel the benefit of...very strong breezes. I have heard her measure the strength of the wind by the number of clothespins it takes to hold the dish towels on the line. "Oh, it's a 7 peg day!"

I love wind! And laundry.
I'd give a lot right now for an 18 peg day in Arisaig.

I used to love wind. Then I shingled and painted parts of the cottage in high wind. Trying times. I got mad at the wind, and now it just goes right past me. Move along, wind, move along.

one day you and the mighty, enticing wind will reconcile.

As the writer in Ecclesiastes said 'life is meaningless, a chasing after the wind...'. As long as the wind sends that ash cloud running so we can make a trip across the pond I don't mind.
