Wahey me hearties

This is what Claire has been saying this week. And singing, "what can we do with a drunken pirate?". She has filled her pillowcase with plastic necklaces and hidden it under her bed. Apparently it is Pirate Week at nursery and she is loving it. They had to dress up today. Why are pirates an appropriate theme for children? I wanted to send her in with a toy machine gun and a map of the Somali coastline. Is next week pimp week? Breaking and entering week?

Still, she was cute.

Sorry about giving you crooked necks.

Sharon - you should so open your own nursery school. Tell them how it is - none of this sugar coating nonsence!

Ha! Perhaps privateers instead of pirates would be a better theme. An opportunity for a little Nova Scotia history lesson?

Too right... I've been bothered about pirate themes for years now... especially since Jack Sparrow! Even if kids don't want those movies, everyone knows and loves him. Grrr.
But I just LOVE Claire the Pirate! She can be my captain anyday!
