Tonight we watched a very good French film called Of Gods and Men, based on the true story of Cistercian monks in Algeria in the 1990s as violence was escalating near their monastery and village. I searched Cistercians to see what kind of order they are, and this was top of the search results:

Me too, I got Wikipedia and then the Catholic Encyclopedia. And I don't have ad blockers, but I do only use Google. Tried to avoid for years, but finally realised it does give you the best results.
And me too, again, I also saw that movie... well, like SO many things in my life, I didn't finish it. I mean to, just need my faithful translator by my side and the time we have to watch movies together is rare!
No, I used Yahoo, which I know is for yahoos. I'm not sure I want an ad blocker. I might keep things as they are just for the humour.
I would LOVE my own cistercian, but even with free postage they are a bit pricey.

The thing is Jen, even if you could afford it, where would you put a Cistercian? Although...from what I've read, they are really into manual agricultural labour....and might be very happy in one of your outbuildings. Hmm...birthday idea.
I was thinking exactly the same thing. A cistercian would really complete my kitchen garden...
