My heart's in the Highlands
October school hols are almost over. We spent a few days in Aviemore in the highlands at a youth hostel. Travelled in a steam train - chillin! Claire turned 5 and her birthday wish was for a pony ride.
Here's Ailsa and Heather at a double stone circle from 2500 BC
Then we were at Landmark - an outdoor adventure park. This video is especially for Grandma, Oma and all those challenged by heights. I couldn't believe Ailsa and Heather did it. Ailsa was the slowest up the pole (Kris could advise?), but once up she just jumped right down. Heather zipped right up but then deliberated for a minute at the top. Second time round there was no hesitation.
We visited a wildlife park - it's all over now, back to school - oh deer (Sharon's comment)

Toooo AWESOME- the girls and the activities!!!! It was like a mini tree go that we went on last summer. And the pole climbing is like the one at BigCove- lots to talk about with the big cousins. They are with their Dad this weekend but I will be sure to show them the video. Totally brave and well spirited gals- Sharon included. John is obviously the ring leader of enthusiasm!!!! What a great way to start the morning off.

wow such fun pics ailsa&heather was that horribly scary coming down that rope? Sally&I would have done that when we were young!!!! NO?
Why is a steam train so cold?
Don't you just love adventure parks?!! We just did the one in the summer, but I think we'll be exploring many more in our future! Well done girls. I want to know if John had any fun.
Hi BA - it was great all round, hanging out with hippy families in the youth hostel - our girls became acquainted with playing pool - something I know you have a penchant for! I'm too scared of heights to do the sky-dive, and I was amazed how easy it came to my girls. I did the tree-top trail and the squirrel walk. The steam train had really old carriages that were poorly heated so it was chilly. I forgot to mention the Ceilidh we went to - too much to put in a blog........
Wow, looks great! Must take Mae sometime, but can't see her doing that jump- your girls are brave!
I would LOVE that!!!! That looked like too much fun!!
Hoo-ee. Wow.
