Mothering Sunday

A sunny, cinnamony start to the day. Some happy faces, some disgruntled faces. Some well groomed hair, some electric-shock style coiffs. I learned just this year that Mother's Day in Britain isn't always some Sunday in March, it is scheduled to fall on the fourth Sunday of Lent. It's always in Lent. Odd. I never knew that. And, speaking of Lent, in church this morning, Claire got really fed up of me and just said, loudly, "But I can't hear myself if I whisper!"

I think you are going to need to keep a close eye on that Heather.

Of the kids, I can see the disgruntled, and the happy. I can see the well-coiffed and the not-so-much.
But from Sharon... I'm zooming in and trying to figure out which she is!
WHY is the name of this supposedly special day a verb?! It implies DOING something... as if you don't every single day of the year. Relaxing Sunday it should be called. Or Skiving Off Sunday would be better.
Hope it was a good day.

Very nice picture..I love the disgruntled faces..funny the oldest ones are the disgruntled ones..my oldest one is always more than the youngest,...hmm.
Mothers day and lent...that is odd. Is that gold woman on the table a gift? and nice tea cups in the background! :)

ha ha! Tracey, you are the most observant person. Yes, it's a bell in the form of a gold lady. All my presents come from charity shops. Apparently i only have to ring it and a girl will come running to offer help.

Ha! I hope it works as well in life as it sounds in theory!
