A Special Day

It was Ailsa's First Holy Communion today. Here is a gaggle of girls getting ready. All lined up in their finery. And a wee sister.

The altar cloth with all their names painted on that I made (at the deputy head teacher's suggestion). I have never done machine embroidery before, and trying to manoeuvre around the centre section of a 3m by 3m piece of fabric was bonkers. Not sure I'd do that again.

Pic #1: I think the official collective noun is a "giggle" of girls. And it's just the perfect illustration of little sisterhood. I feel like my entire childhood was spent in that pose with that expression.
Pic #2: Best hair - far right. Best posture for a wee girl - far left. Best dress AND best expression - middle.
Pic #3: I'm glad they coerced you into making that cloth. It's gorgeous.
