Christmas fun

We've had a fun time in Aberdeen visiting my folks. Saw the Aberdeen Rangers game. Granda and Grandma doing lots of playing with the girls. Christmas eve and day involved playing bass with mum at church which was cool. Ailsa and Heather got scooters and spent most of the time racing up and down mum and dad's hallway. For the French gastronomic readers of this blog - j'ai reussi avec mon tiramisu! Grandma gave them both a doll's house which kept me and my uncle Harry busy for about 1 hour of tricky DIY. Heather disvovered a good use of present padding which she turned into a princess's veil.
Here is the kind of mayhem the girls can cause with 2 scooters in a kitchen when Christmas dinner is on the go.
Happy Christmas to all!
John

More Christmas frolics
Ailsa discovered shaded cool glasses (candy wrapper covered NHS precription glasses) and Claire baby hurried down the chimney

Who is doing the work in our house?

Getting down on the floor to set up the tree...it's Opa.

Getting the lights on the tree...it's Opa

Decorating the tree faster than the speed of light...it's Heather.

Sitting in a rocking chair drinking wine...Oma. Hmmm...she is wearing an apron though, perhaps she made some delicious ravioli for the decorators earlier in the evening.

Making up baby songs to stop the crying and encourage wiggling...John.

Look Who's Here!!

Oma, to help with the homework!

Opa, to help with the naps!

Rainy cold sunday What to do on a rainy cold sunday? The girls were dancing to Heather's theme tune to warm the cockles of the heart. Check out the footage of rainy cold Scotland http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MagG8J--BBI

Higher Calling

The other night Ailsa's prayer finished with this heavenly plea: "Dear God, please help Mum to buy more snacks because we're running low."

Tradition

Happy Saint Nicholas Day everyone. Holidays are all about tradition, so you will be seeing this picture every Dec 6th for as long as this blog runs. Thank you Bethanne for passing on the notebooks and chocolate from St Nicholas, who got bumped off his Ryanair flight last night and couldn't make it Scotland.

It Shrunk!!

Ok, who ran my Vauxhall Zafira through the hot wash? It's turned into a Corsa! Cute though. Now we just need to run the family through the same cycle.
This is our courtesy car while ours is in the garage getting its rearend realigned. Let's hope it's all fixed by next Tuesday when Mom and Dad arrive, or we're going to be in a tight squeeze.

Christmasize

December is here and we can listen to carols finally. Yay! , Or maybe I should say, Halleluia!Outside of the period from December 1st to January 6th, carols and other Christmas paraphernalia are banned, for fear of the season becoming mundane. John has defined it as the "Christmasization of winter". Then I wondered if Christmatization sounded better. As a verb, Christmasize sounds like festive aerobics. Please suggest which activities might be included in a Christmasize class.
