We feted Burns tonight - the girls at first weren't keen on the Haggis at first view but once they tasted it they polished it off. Here is the slaughter of the HaggisAilsa was still holding to the myth that the Haggis is a 4 legged creature whose legs on one side are shorter than the other so it can run round steep hills, when she found out it was from sheep she said I'm not eating that.

Quelle Surprise!

We've been keeping tight-lipped on this one.....but it appears we don't have a 7 seater vehicle for nothing, although Sharon may throw the 7th seat out. Due date 22nd July.

Sticker of the Day

Once in awhile Ailsa will come home from school with a sticker on her shirt, such as, "Good Work", or "Helping Hand".

Well, it seems the nosy secret police have got hold of this sticker idea. Yesterday at lunch time the "lunch ladies" looked inside the children's lunchboxes. We parental food packers had no advance warning. By a stroke of luck (actually a stroke of too lazy to get to the grocery store, and feeling bad for sending her to school without a nice little chocolate treat) Ailsa had a very boring and very healthy packed lunch. However, her friend next to her was sent home wearing the shame of an "Unhealthy lunchbox" sticker, for having a Nutella sandwich!
Little do the "lunch ladies" know that we ate deep fried Mars bars for breakfast and a family bucket of KFC for supper.

Chocolate Girls

While John was away in Glasgow this weekend, Celtic Connecting, we went for a cold sunny walk in Seaton Park and stopped for some hot chocolate. After supper, we indulged in a chocolate fondue. Mmm. No photo of the pain au chocolat for Sunday breakfast.

6:30am Saturday Morning

Ailsa and Heather got their hair trimmed Friday afternoon and the whole escapade really captured Ailsa's imagination. Heather was not so impressed. As usual. Claire, as usual, just wants to be like the big girls.

Or, the northern lights of old Aberdeen. Taking a trick learned from Maria, it's easy to ring in the New Year with small children...once you set the clocks ahead 4 hours. After we boogied and party popped and auld lang syned with the girls, they went off to bed and John and I watched Mamma Mia. I might just leave the double-disco-ball plugged in for the rest of my life.
