Retro Saturday

This saturday was a unique Aberdeen warm summers day with highs of 18 degrees and initially not a cloud in sight. There's something wrong with this pic - not just the greasy glare....
We headed on down to Stonehaven's outdoor heated pool and you'd think you were in Greece or something. The pool dates from around 1920 - very retro. Ater some lunch we went to Royal deeside and went a walk to Burn O' Vat - this funny cave and waterfall near Ballater

Sweet Lemonade

The girls have been wanting all sumer to set up a lemonade stand, but finding a good day with nothing else going on, and some sunshine, that wasn't an easy combination. But last Thursday it came. Boy, the enthusiasm...and the impatience. After 15 minutes with no customers, they knocked on the next door neighbour's door to ask if he would like to come out to buy some lemonade! He did. They took a break and went back to it at suppertime, when lots of hospital staff walk up our road to the bus stop, and people come home from work. Five customers in all, the last one was their Dad. I think he got extra ginger snaps at no extra cost. And the lemonade was delicious. We drank the unsold stock with supper.
