Call the FerrymanThis is us on Easdale Island, which is 2+2km from Atlantic Bridge, as Dad noticed! I'm guessing it's 2 to the ferry and 2 to the island. The island is a big chunk of slate and a century ago was very busy with slate quarrying. Now you can see huge empty quarries filled with water ( a bit scary to walk around with 2 energetic girls). All the rock walls, houses and roofing tiles are made of slate.

And there are no cars on the island. In the distance you can see the village of Ellenabeich, where you catch the ferry (small motor boat). When you get off the ferry with your 20 bags of groceries, you just load up a few of these wheelbarrows which are helpfully waiting for you.
What are those tire tracks then Sharon, if you claim there are no cars? A JCB. How they got that across in the motor boat, I don't know. And here are Ailsa and Heather building a wee cairn.
