Natural Fast Food

Last weekend in Aberdeen John and I had a night away and had a romantic windswept dinner on the seafront in Montrose. I wore my most fetching woolly winter hat.

North-East Wind

A trip up north for work purposes and to hang with the grandparents. The obligatory trip to the beach was a bit different. Firstly blue skies, my first ever sighting of the Dolphins everyone talks about in Aberdeen harbour. Sharon and I had our supernanny look after the kids while we did some sand-kiting (my kite is orange). Yes, it's times like these, when everything seems to be right in place (not to mention the 2-0 win over Rangers) that you think you're in paradise........ Listen out for Ailsa's yelp on the first video clip. Music by Eddi Reader.

The Friendly Dragon

Heather might look slightly scared but this is really a very friendly dragon named Mae. She and her Mom (also a dragon...friendliness of varying degrees) came to visit us last night and we had a lovely day in the park waving at highland cows and clydesdale horses, eating sandwiches and bouncing on trampolines. Then they left on the train to go back to their lair.

Saturday Journeys

Now that Bethanne's joyful presence has left the house, we tried to keep ourselves busy by getting the bikes out of the garage and going to the local park.

Johnny Cash: Were You There

Our friend Marc sent us a youtube link to a Johnny Cash song - then one thing led to another and I clicked on this version of Johnny singing 'Were you there'. I was happily listening to it whilst surfing the net - reminded of the time when Sharon and I were in this pentecostal restaurant in Winchester (England) and the same tune without words came on whilst we were eating apple crumble..........I found myself singing lowly somtimnes I like to eat apple crumble, crumble, crumble...Now I've actuially seen the video link - Either it's sacriligious ior it's ideal for kids and lego fiends to deepen their faith. Either way it's too tempting to share it.John

MEN: What are they good for?

Well, some mornings they get up at 5:30am, feed the baby, then when the other girls get up at 6am, sort out a quiet dvd, put in a load of laundry, get breakfast ready, tie the school tie and hang out the washing before leaving for work at 8:30.
And what does the wife say when she gets up? "What? Haven't you done the girls' hair???"

I promise to try to improve my gratitude attitude.

Losing a bit of sparkle

The last blog photo didn't really prove that these are the absolute favourite shoes.

She's got sparkles on the sides of her shoes

These are the favourite shoes in the house. Ailsa and Heather each have a pair. Look at that shimmering reflection on the white windowframe in the background.

Pie

The I've lost my fight with the door company commiseration pie.
For more interesting pie names, see the film, "Waitress".

Can she do it?

How bendy is this baby?

Oh, yes, she certainly can.
