Highly dangerous teacups

These teacups spin so fast and so wild you are required to wear helmets. We had a lovely sunny day on Saturday. We spent the morning in Dumfries and then went to Rouken Glen park where 852 children under 7 were out on their various wheeled toys.

MY spring has sprung


This is for my cousin Dan, bemoaning the cold snowy spring in Nova Scotia. These are the pictures from my front yard this afternoon. See all the bunnies frolicking among the daffodils? I was amazed they didn't scurry away.

WEEKEND HIPPIES

Well - wev'e had a fab time at a traditional folk music weeekend in the borders (Wiston) run by the Glasgow fiddle workshop. Lots of wall-to-wall music - tricky to do numbers and weird mish-mash of hippy types - eco-warriors, traditional music activists. It was at an old YMCA house and was ideal for wee kids to run around and dance. Sunday there was snow, a snowman and sledging - which was cool because there has been no snow in Glasgow all winter.

Our camera ran out of batteries, but as its mother's day I thought I'd show this cool photo of Sharon trying to learn fiddle and entertain baby Ailsa back in 2002.
I'm trying to think of more to write to make this a bigger entry to distract from bizarre unspecified entries below.........
Congrats to the Edinburgh Hibees who won their first trohy since 1991 today and made Neil Quinn and Craig and Charlie Reid very happy today (Proclaimers are big hi-bees fans)

This morning in church, just at the end, a second collection was being taken up. Ailsa, at a good volume, says, "What's that? I can hear money going on!"

Well I spotted a microphone at the 'Pollock market' - a high quality south Glasgow Market - where they were selliung these microphones for????£1. Must be stolen but gives lots of entertainment. Ailsa has been compering the entertainment, including co-ordinating a blast-off. I'm, not talking about the Yoga flatulence type, but rather "5-4-3-2-1, ?have you got your nappy pants on?". Ever since we saw a NASA website showing that astronauts wear incontinence pads/nappies/diapers Ailsa's been fascinated. It may not be helping with nocturnal continence issues.

It's Ailsa's turn to bring home the bear from nursery for a week, but what a demanding houseguest. He changes his clothes 20 times each morning, likes his porridge just so and thinks all the other toys are passe, as if he's the latest hot thing.
At least it's not a live hamster.

A travelling salesman came knocking at our door trying to sell us wood floors. There was something familiar about him, and he spoke different.


Meanwhile Heather has been learning new tricks with the washing machine - she had both legs right in for a while but couldn't keep it going for long enough for a photo

Blood Red

There's a lunar eclipse tomorrow night and apparently Halifax is the place to see it. It's 5:30pm EST (what is EST, is that Toronto time?) Because it should be happening here at 10:30pm, which would make it 6:30pm in Hfx, according to my experts. Let's hope for a clear night.
