We've had a very charged weeknd with Neil Clark's uber-cool 40 th birthday party in Glasgow which I zoomed down to after work on friday - the soundtrack being 5 hours of Neil's favourite tunes and lots of trips down memory lane with old school buddies.

Martyn and Leanne (Godparents) zoomed up from Southampton in supersonic speed to make it for the triumphant Aberdeen vs. Rangers game (1-0)...... Then Laura was baptised. Sharon made some fairy cakes ('A' missing).

Which we followed with a house warming party

These two senior judges will be arriving in December. Heather asked this morning, "How many more days until Oma comes? How many more days? How many more days?"
I told her 12.
"Is Opa coming too?"

"Yippeeeee!!! He's so funny".

Bruno is Wrong

Alesha and Len are correct. This beautiful girl is no longer six. This beautiful girl has also made her own scoring signs for watching Strictly Come Dancing every Saturday night. Although, as she admits, it is hard to score fairly when you've missed half the dance because you were swirling around the couch yourself.

Homework Hysteria

I feel like I'm home schooling. Aside from the half hour it takes every night to read through teacher's notes, sign permission slips, send in money/homebaking/charity donations, I am solidly helping with homework from 4-5pm (while I'm trying to cook supper, soothe a crying baby, stop the two year old from drawing on said crying baby with a green permanent marker) and then sometimes help with more homework for half an hour after supper too. This is with only 2 children in school, and only in P1 and P3. Is this normal? What do parents do if they work all day and only get home at 6pm?

CULLEN BAY

We're back after a virus attacked our computer - but we seem to have solved it. We had a wee October break in Cullen Bay - family of 6 in a single hotel room - not for the weak-willed - was just about ready to go home after the first night, but then a hearty breakfast and things got better. Cullen Bay is a lovely village on the Banffshire/Moray coast ...theme for the pipe tune Patrick played on his pipes at our wedding back in '94 (www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8kybkBLEhA), and home to Cullen skink.
